Equine Sports Massage and Rehabilitation Therapy...
May be performed on any horse or pony ranging from retired horses at grass to competition horses.
Massage Therapy involves manipulating the soft tissue structures of the equine body using a range of different techniques. The techniques used can help to the trigger the body’s natural ability to heal by acting on the different systems within the equine body. Massage therapy may also induce relaxation of the nervous system, helping the psychophysiological pathway between the equine mind and body.
Sarah is fully qualified and insured in Equine Sports Massage Therapy
She studied for two years at The Institute of Complimentary Animal Therapies. The course is a level 5 diploma accredited by the governing body OCN London. Sarah passed all Modules with Distinction.
Sarah is a member of and regulated by The Institute of Registered Veterinary and Animal Physiotherapists (IRVAP) and The International Association of Animal Therapists (IAAT). Both IRVAP and the IAAT ensure that all members complete continuing professional
development every year, this gives clients of Equine S.M.A.R.T the peace of mind that IRVAP and IAAT practitioners stay up to date withtheir knowledge and skills, so that they can provide advanced, safe,
and effective treatments.

Sarah also qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2009 and obtained a further certificate in emergency and critical care through City and Guilds. She is registered and regulated as a Veterinary Nurse by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Regulation by the RCVS ensures Sarah completes continuing professional development every year, Sarah continues to work as nurse in referral
and first opinion practices, which allows her to keep an up to date working knowledge of Veterinary Procedures and medications. This unique insight allows Sarah to treat her patients safely and effectively, working alongside Vets and other paraprofessionals to ensure your Horse or Pony receives the most effective and beneficial treatment possible.

Sarah is passionate about the care of any patient she treats, both as a nurse and therapist. She approaches each horse and pony as an individual, taking the time to get to know them so that she can provide a bespoke treatment to each individual. Sarah has been around horses all her life, working in a variety of different yards including rehabilitation and rescue centres. She currently owns her own ex racehorse who she competes in dressage and is often accompanied on visits by Bryn her Flatcoated Retriever.
